As strange as it is thrillingly ambitious, World Movies presents the premiere of the ultimate quirky film, The Lobster, with Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz.
Taking a jab at society’s expectations and discourse around modern relationships, The Lobster is set in a dystopian near-future where single people are arrested and forced to stay in a disturbing hotel. There, they are given an ultimatum: 45 days to find a romantic partner, or transformed into beasts and sent off into the woods, forever.
Hotel Manager: Now have you thought of what animal you’d like to be if you end up alone?
David: Yes. A lobster.
Hotel Manager: Why a lobster?
David: Because lobsters live for over one hundred years, are blue-blooded like aristocrats, and stay fertile all their lives. I also like the sea very much.
“The Lobster is an off-the-wall, unmissable journey, an education, in this very life we lead, but also in how to write a truly original, seminal movie…in such a unique method that we’d be forgiven for all the times that we’ve believed finding the right one is a head-scratcher.” – Awards Daily
Don’t miss the Australian TV premiere of The Lobster, Wednesday 1 March 8.30pm.
