Ellen Page filmed indie flick Hard Candy in 2005. Since then, she’s tried her hand at portraying a mutant that can phase through walls, a witty pregnant teenager and a “dreamscape architect” in the blockbuster Inception.
The fresh faced 24 year old has most recently been filming in Rome on Director Woody Allen’s latest romantic comedy project, The Bop Decameron.
The film is loosely based on Giovanni Boccaccio’s medi¬≠eval col¬≠lec¬≠tion of erotic love tales and divided into four separate vignettes. One of those will feature Allen himself (his first acting role since Scoop in 2006) as an American man travelling to Italy to meet the family of his daughter’s fiance.
Star studded is a term used all too often, but The Bop Decameron certainly warrants it with more than a handful of notable names; Alec Baldwin, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Penelope Cruz, Greta Gerwig, Alison Pill plus Italian stars Roberto Benigni (Life is Beautiful), Antonio Albanese and Alessandra Mastronardi.
Needless to say, the paparazzi have been in overdrive snapping the stars on set, including Penelope Cruz sporting a sexy red mini dress.
The film is rumoured to premiere at Cannes next year. We can’t wait.
