The hippest celebration of Spanish-language film returns to Melbourne with the La Mirada Film Festival 2012.
Now in its third year, the festival is co-programmed by some of the world’s most influential cultural figures. This year La Mirada organiser Rocio Garcia has worked with Spanish director Pedro Almod√≥var to present a superb line-up of films from Spain, Mexico and South America.
Guest curators include actor and director Gael García Bernal (presenting his critically acclaimed festival hit Miss Bala), while the eccentrically brilliant Wes Anderson and the eternally cool Pelle Almqvist (Frontman of The Hives) both present secret film screenings.
There’s an enthralling line-up of premiere films playing from 15 – 26 November in Melbourne – you can see the full program here.
World Movies is giving away 20 double passes to the La Mirada Film Festival. To enter simply email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us your favourite Spanish-language film.
Please also include your name and address. Competition open to residents of Victoria only. Entries close 9am Thursday 15 November 2012.
