Denmark, we’d like to thank you. The steady stream of captivating Danish crime thrillers we’ve experienced over the past few years has been keeping our inner detective very satisfied. Now, with the upcoming Australian release of the gripping crime-thriller The Keeper of Lost Causes, we just know that this good run is going to continue.
This electrifying film from the screenwriter of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and director of Borgen is the first adaptation of the bestselling Department Q crime novels by Jussi Adler-Olsen.
Carl Mørck (of The Killing fame) stars as a disgraced detective who is reassigned to the newly created Department Q, a basement-bound job filing cold cases. Upon his arrival he is allocated a new assistant, Assad, an intelligent young cop. Always one to go against orders, Mørck soon throws them both headlong into the mystery of a missing politician’s disappearance five years earlier. Believing the case to be unsolved, they embark on a dangerous journey that will lead them into the dark underworld of Copenhagen.
